365 moments of our lives Week 1

Okay so instead of trying to catch up right now I am going to start fresh. At the beginning of the year I decided to accept the challenge to take one picture everyday for a year. I thought that this would be a fun project especially since I don't keep a daily journal and maybe this could take the place of that. Some of the people that I know that are doing this have chose to blog everyday but I have decided to blog once a week. So there will be 365 pictures in 52 blog posts. I am kind of excited to see the progression in the pictures and to remeber the everyday stuff that our family does.

So here it goes.

January 1, 2011

We celebrated Grandpa Black's 80th Birthday today. It was so fun to see all of the family and spend time with them. Some of the cousins Brian and I haven't seen since we got married so it was good to get together. Grandpa Black is such a kind man and I was happy that we could celebrate another birthday with him.

Many of you probably look at this picture and think what in the heck is that? Well I did too the first time I saw it but since I have been with Brian this has become part of the family. This is a the dough for a Dutch donut known as Olle Bollen. This was our first year making it all together with Brian's family and it was a lot of fun. It is quite the process but it is worth it because it is so delicious. By the end of the night we all smelled of oil (deep frying) but we had a lot of fun.

Since I have had Maycee I have been trying to work out on a more regular basis. I have done okay at it but my New Year's "resolution" (if you want to call it that) is to become more consistent with my working out. I ideally would like to work out at least 3-4 times every week. So this is my running shoes that I put on today and went running in. Here's to working out more this year and getting rid of all the excess baby weight.

Many of you will probably look at this picture and think oh cute look at Cooper waving. But if you look closely he is waving at something in particular. COWIES-or cows. When I was in high school I had a friend that always waved to the cows for good luck and it rubbed off on me. So whenever I see some cows I wave to them. Needless to say it has rubbed off on my children. Anytime we go somewhere Cooper gets all excited and waves to the Cowies. So it may look silly but hopefully it will bring him lots of good luck.

I have been to lazy to pull out the high chair for Maycee to sit in while we eat dinner. So instead we place her on the table in her bumbo. She thinks that it is pretty fun and loves to be in the middle of all the action.

January 6, 2011

I have been trying to get Maycee to eat cereal for quite a few weeks now. She hasn't really been to interested in it though. But tonight I tried again and she couldn't get enough of it. She loved grabbing the spoon and helping me get it too her mouth. That is why she has it everywhere. In fact when we were done I had the hardest time getting her to give me the spoon back.

This has become one of our favorite family games. Ethan got this for christmas and we have really enjoyed playing it together as a family. Ethan loves adding and multipling and pretty much anything to do with numbers so this is one of his favorite games. It is fun because all of us can play together and have fun doing so. I would recommend this game to everyone.

This completes week one. I hope to stay up with this because I think it will be really fun to look back over the year and be able to remeber each day with a photo.
