Week 3

This week was a struggle for me with remembering to take pictures but I did it without missing a day.  So some of the pictures may be blah or not have great lighting but that was because I didn't remember to take them until late at night.  Oops!

I did two pictures for today.  This is how the boys and I spent our Saturday morning.  My parents met us out in Royal City to do some canning.  This is a church owned portable canner that we used to can up some flour and sugar.  It was a fun experience and the boys loved it. It is quite the process but it doesn't take much time as long as you have some helpers.  We were able to can up 250 lbs of flour and 300 lbs of sugar in about 2 hours.  The boys were big helpers by putting the lids on and also helping with the labels.  As you "CAN" see Maycee was even a big helper.  So now I am stocked up on flour and sugar for a while.  By the way the flour in the bottom picture is just a portion of what we ended up with.  I was just having some with the cans for a picture.  :)

Yep more football.  Today was spent watching the Seahawks get their rears kicked by the Bears.  Actually I didn't watch much because by the time we got home from church the game was already a blowout so I found it useless to waste my time watching.  We are big Seahawk fans-or I should say Brian is and I have joined in.  Every game day Brian and the boys get their Seahawks gear on and sit and watch the game.  It is pretty cute with all the boys in their jerseys.  I usually start watching the game but end up using my time more wisely by taking a Sunday afternoon nap.  Don't get me wrong I like watching the Seahawks but I am glad that I can watch something other than football for a while now.  Yeah for basketball.  :)

Minute to Win it!  Today I thought instead of having practice for basketball we would have some fun and play some games.  I decided that we would play Minute to Win it games.  For those of you that don't know Minute to Win it is a game show on TV and they do all sorts of weird games that have to be completed within  the minute.  My boys love the show so they were excited to be able to go to "practice" with me today.  As you can see I used 2 pictures again. The boys couldn't help but take part and participate with my basketball team. In the top one Cody is trying his hardest to stack five dice on the top of the popsicle stick in his mouth.  He was concentrating so hard.  In the bottom picture Cooper is trying to fan the two eggs with the pizza box to get them in the blue square.  Needless to say we ended up with a few broken eggs.  It was a lot of fun and I am sure that my boys won't let me go too long before we have a Minute to Win it night at home.

This is where we spent most of our day today.  This is the kids' doctor's office in Wenatchee.  Today all of the kids had an appointment.
Ethan had to get his ears checked since he failed a hearing test at school.  Everything ended up fine and he can hear just fine.  Cody had his 5 year checkup.  He is becoming such a big kid.  He got 3 shots and was so proud that he didn't even cry or say ouch.  Cooper had to get his feet checked because he has been complaining that they hurt.  The doctor thinks that it is just because he has no arch and thinks that arch supports should help him so I hope we can get this figured out.  Maycee had her routine check up that was suppose to happen at 4 months but I canceled due to the weather that day.  So it was her 4 months check up but she is almost 6 months.  She is such a big little girl.  She weighs 17 lbs already.  I thought it was funny because the nurse measured her head and then had to remeasure because it has grown so much since her 2 month checkup.  Needless to say she just has the Black family noggin.  There are no little heads around here just big heads with lots of brains.  haha

This was my project for today.  While in Wenatchee yesterday I bought this organizer for the kids toys.  We decided that there was going to be NO toys in the boys room. With three boys in the same room we found that there just isn't enough room to have the toys in there too.  So we decided to move them downstairs to the basement "playroom" area.  I wanted something that was organized and have been looking around for quite a while for the right solution.  I think that I found the right thing and just hope that it works as good as I think it will. I am loving the way this turned out.

This is one of those nights that I forgot to take a picture until late at night so this had to do.  In fact all the other kids were in bed so Maycee was my only choice.  She was pretty happy though for it being bedtime.  I can't believe how fast my little girl is growing up.  She is already almost 6 months old.  She is such a happy little girl and full of smiles and giggles.  She is already super ticklish.  It is so much fun having a little girl along with the 3 boys.  There is just something different about having a little girl.  I love to dress her up and spoil her rotten.  I don't pass up any chance that I get to cuddle her or just enjoy some time holding her.  I love my little baby GIRL!

This is how Ethan spent his day.  SICK DAY!  He woke up with the pukies and spent all day on the couch.  I knew it was just a matter of time until we got it since it has been going around and he was the first to get it.  I was just so happy that there was no extra cleanup because he made it to the toilet.  WOOHOO!  For those of you with kids you know how exciting this is.  He was pretty blah all day and kind of enjoyed being able to watch whatever he wanted and getting to drink soda (7UP).  He obviously found the positive side of being sick.  SODA!!!  Luckily it didn't last long and by Saturday morning he felt a lot better.

3 weeks down only 49 more to go.  YEA!!!
